Work Environment

The role involves working alongside the General Manager, the head of engineering, and other office staff. The work environment includes a small office attached to a warehouse, with an older industrial setting. It is a relaxed environment but can become hectic during busy periods. The dress code is casual, and there is flexibility for employees who need to attend appointments during the day, provided their work is completed. The company values independence and does not micromanage.

Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm (CST).

Job Description

The role involves purchasing equipment necessary for manufacturing and office operations, primarily electrical components, steel, and office supplies. Additionally, the Purchasing Agent may occasionally be responsible for securing equipment and hotel rentals for installations at job sites.

Responsibilities

Negotiate with vendors to secure supplies.Prepare paperwork for customers, including quotes, purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading.Enter data into Excel and other Microsoft programs, as the company does not use an ERP system.Shop for the best price and manage purchase orders.Oversee supply chain and vendor management.Handle inventory management and buying experience.

Essential Skills

2+ years of purchasing experience, ideally in manufacturing or at a food plant.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office platforms.Strong negotiation and data entry skills.Ability to work independently and wear multiple hats.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.Experience with smaller-sized operations.Comfortable working independently.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $33.65/hr.
