Job Description The Buyer will play a key role in supporting our Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance teams by collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive improvements in quality, delivery performance, and cost efficiency. This position provides critical input on challenges such as material shortages, design changes, and production backlogs, and contributes to the continuous enhancement of materials management processes. The Buyer will also support efforts to optimize and streamline our supplier base. Responsibilities + Issue purchase orders and plan material requirements to meet inventory, production, and customer demands while maintaining cost objectives. + Monitor and resolve past-due purchase orders, rescheduling needs, and expediting requirements. + Maintain accurate part information, including lead times, pricing, economic order quantities, safety stock levels, and related data. + Manage material supply and inventory levels in alignment with manufacturing goals. + Review engineering change orders and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to update system data and communicate all necessary changes. + Analyze issues, gather data, establish facts, and drive effective resolutions. + Support initiatives to manage and reduce raw material inventory. + Contribute to and, when appropriate, lead cost-planning initiatives for assigned materials and suppliers. Essential Skills + Demonstrated experience in purchasing, procurement, purchase order management, and supply chain operations. + Experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. + Highly driven and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and efficiently. + Strong critical-thinking skills with the ability to approach problem‑solving creatively and analytically. + Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. + Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross‑functional teams and suppliers. Additional Qualifications + Associate degree or higher in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or a related field preferred. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Marietta, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
