Job Title: BuyerJob Description

We are seeking a Buyer to manage the creation and oversight of purchase orders to meet revenue and inventory goals. This role involves proactive maintenance of all open purchase orders, including due dates, quantities, and costs. The Buyer will coordinate with suppliers, ensuring timely acknowledgment of purchase orders, and work directly with the manufacturing team to understand and meet material requirements.

ResponsibilitiesCreate and manage purchase orders to meet revenue and inventory goals.Proactively maintain all open purchase orders, including due dates, quantities, and costs.Follow up with suppliers on past due purchase orders or when purchase orders have not been acknowledged in a timely manner.Work directly with the manufacturing team to understand material requirements and ensure material availability.Reschedule purchase orders that are not needed to avoid excess inventory.Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineering and Process Engineering to resolve supplier quality issues and ensure quality expectations are being met.Request RMA numbers from suppliers, process returns in Oracle, and handle packaging.Essential Skills5 years total experience in supply chain, with 1-2 years specific purchasing experience.1-2 years of manufacturing/operations experience, preferably in a high-mix, low-volume plant.Experience working with ERP systems, such as Oracle.Understanding of Kanban, Min/Max, Buy to Order, Consignment, Vendor Managed Inventory, Blankets, MRP, and Last Time Buy.Solid understanding of lean manufacturing tools.Proficiency with Microsoft applications, such as Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Experience with multitasking in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).Strong written and verbal communication skills.Self-starter with the ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision.Calm under pressure and able to articulate problems and solutions clearly.Team-oriented with a willingness to help where needed.Work Environment

The role operates in a standard Monday through Friday schedule with onsite work required. The environment is team-oriented with significant collaboration with planning, scheduling, and interaction with engineering and production. The team is supportive, inviting, and fosters autonomy, encouraging proactive engagement and process improvements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.50 - $43.27/hr.
