Job Title: BuyerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Buyer to create and manage purchase orders, ensuring revenue and inventory goals are met. You will be responsible for maintaining open purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and working closely with the manufacturing team to meet material requirements. This role demands attention to detail and proactive management of purchase orders to avoid excess inventory. Responsibilities + Create and manage purchase orders to meet revenue and inventory goals. + Maintain all open purchase orders, including due dates, quantities, and cost. + Follow-up with suppliers on past-due purchase orders or unacknowledged orders. + Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure material availability. + Reschedule unnecessary purchase orders to prevent excess inventory. + Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineering and Process Engineering to resolve quality issues. + Request RMA numbers from suppliers and process returns in Oracle. Essential Skills + 5 years of experience in supply chain management, including 1-2 years in purchasing. + 1-2 years of manufacturing/operations experience in a high-mix, low-volume plant. + Proficiency with ERP systems, especially Oracle. + Understanding of Kanban, Min/Max, Buy to Order, Consignment, Vendor Managed Inventory, Blankets, MRP, and Last Time Buy. + Solid understanding of lean manufacturing tools. + Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related fields is preferred but not required. + Self-starter with the ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision. + Calm under pressure and able to articulate problems and solutions clearly. + Experience in a fast-paced environment. + Team-oriented with a willingness to assist others as needed. Work Environment This position requires on-site work from Monday to Friday during standard business hours. You will be part of a collaborative team environment, interacting regularly with planning, scheduling, engineering, and production teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.50 - $43.27/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
