Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer / Purchasing Specialist to support our Production Control department. This role is critical to ensuring timely procurement of parts, materials, and supplies needed for our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with MRP systems, strong supplier relationship management skills, and a solid understanding of inventory control.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcure parts, materials, and supplies using the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system and KanBan processes.Review MRP reports daily and assess inventory levels to determine purchasing needs.Place and expedite orders as required to meet production schedules.Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through account management, site visits, and commodity expertise.Monitor supplier performance using delivery and quality metrics, audits, and regular communication.Conduct inventory checks and place orders based on production forecasts and system recommendations.Address quality issues including rejected materials, defective parts, and raw material specifications.Negotiate and recommend settlements for defective or delayed shipments.Approve invoices and manage returns as necessary.Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work practices.Comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.Required Skills & QualificationsMust Have:2+ years of experience in purchasing or buyer rolesHands-on experience with ERP or MRP systemsFamiliarity with purchase order processesPreferred Skills:Strong understanding of supply chain principlesExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentTop SkillsPurchasingSupply Chain ManagementBuyer OperationsMRP/ERP SystemsPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
