Specialist – Manufacturing & Production Control

 P osition Purpose

As a Buyer within the Production Control department, you’ll play a critical role in sourcing and procuring parts, materials, and supplies based on production schedules, forecasts, and inventory levels. Your work ensures timely availability of resources to keep manufacturing operations running smoothly.

 Key Responsibilities

Purchase parts, materials, and supplies using MRP reports and KanBan systems from established suppliersReview daily MRP reports and conduct visual inventory inspections to determine procurement needsPlace and expedite orders as required to meet production timelinesBuild and maintain strong supplier relationships through account management, site visits, and commodity expertiseMonitor supplier performance using delivery and quality metrics, audits, and daily communicationManage inventory levels by conducting checks and placing orders aligned with forecasts and MRP dataAddress quality issues including rejected materials, defective parts, and raw material specificationsNegotiate settlements with vendors for defective or delayed shipmentsApprove invoice payments or coordinate merchandise returnsAdhere to standard operating procedures and work practicesComply with all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies

 Required Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of experience in purchasing or buyer rolesHands-on experience with ERP or MRP systemsFamiliarity with purchase order creation and managementStrong understanding of supply chain principles and procurement processes

Preferred Skills

Experience in manufacturing or production environmentsAbility to manage multiple suppliers and prioritize procurement needsEffective communication and negotiation skills

 Experience Level

Intermediate – Ideal for candidates with a solid foundation in purchasing and supply chain operations looking to grow within a manufacturing setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
