Job Title: BuyerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will utilize MRP logic and forecasts in the procurement of raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items. This role involves managing inventory, purchase orders, and establishing effective supplier relationships to ensure a seamless supply chain.

ResponsibilitiesUtilize MRP logic and forecasts in the procurement of raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items.Manage inventory to maximize turnover while avoiding stock-outs.Oversee Purchase Orders from issuance to closure, including resolving blocked invoices, discrepancies, and identifying when expedited shipment is needed.Provide forecasts to suppliers on a recurring and regular basis.Assist with the selection and qualification of suppliers based on commercial and technical capability.Establish effective supplier relationships to mitigate risk in the supply chain.Collaborate with Commodity/Purchasing Managers to enhance the supply chain and assist with the selection and qualification of new suppliers.Support management in completing supplier audits and scorecards.Ensure suppliers adhere to the defined requirements.
Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Business, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management preferred.3+ years of purchasing experience or extensive internship with direct buying responsibility.Procurement experience in manufacturing is beneficial.Good computer skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities.Knowledge of MRP/SAP is a plus.Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation skills.
Additional Skills & QualificationsAPICS certification is beneficial.
Work Environment

The work hours are from 8am to 5pm. There is flexibility to take a 30-minute lunch break and leave 30 minutes earlier. This position starts as a contract to support gaps due to medical leave and transitions. However, there is potential for consideration for a full-time direct buyer vacancy based on performance. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods and walk or stand for brief periods.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grove City, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
