Job Title: Buyer / Expeditor Job Description Join a dynamic team responsible for managing the supply chain for assigned commodities. This role involves partnering with various stakeholder teams to develop necessary analysis and documentation, ensuring efficient communication and collaboration across business units. Responsibilities + Collaborate with teams across sales, scheduling, production, customer service, quality, expeditors, global sourcing, finance, shipping/receiving, and engineering to develop necessary analysis and documentation. + Manage supply chain for assigned commodities, including planning, analyzing, procuring, and expediting components to meet sales demands. + Monitor and maintain acceptable inventory levels and achieve on-time deliveries to meet production schedules. + Analyze MRP for inventory control to ensure timely material arrival and adherence to inventory dollar goals. + Utilize the SAP system daily to ensure 100% supplier on-time delivery by sending open order reports and meeting with suppliers. + Resolve daily Accounts Payable rejections to ensure timely payments to suppliers. + Work closely with the Quality Department on supplier quality issues and manage the return of defective materials. + Assist management with assigned projects as needed. Essential Skills + 5-10+ years of purchasing and expediting experience in the manufacturing sector. + Highly proficient in MS Excel, with preferred skills in Pivot tables and Vlookup. + Experience with any ERP system such as SAP. + High School Diploma. + Accounts Payable issue resolution skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years’ experience as a Buyer/Materials Planner with Accounts Payable resolution experience. + Associate degree with 5+ years’ experience as a Buyer/Materials Planner with Accounts Payable resolution experience. + A.S. or B.S. Degree in Electronics industry or Metal fab commodities experience. Work Environment The position is based in a corporate office environment where engineering, testing, accounting, and procurement teams are located. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with an option to work remotely one day a week after training. The role offers a dedicated desk or cubicle.
