Job Title: Buyer – Manufacturing (Machinery & Metal) Employment Type: Full-Time Placement: 6 month contract to hire Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer with manufacturing experience to join our procurement team. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing machinery and metal materials essential to our production operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and vendor management.  Key Responsibilities: + Source, negotiate, and purchase machinery and metal components for manufacturing operations. + Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. + Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams to forecast purchasing needs. + Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. + Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all purchasing activities. + Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to understand technical specifications and procurement requirements. Required Skills & Experience: + Proven experience in a manufacturing environment. + Demonstrated success in buying machinery and metal materials. + Strong negotiation and communication skills. + Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions. + Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with ERP systems. + Knowledge of supply chain best practices. + Technical understanding of machinery and metal specifications. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $36.05/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
