Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to lead our procurement efforts. This role involves sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services essential to our manufacturing operations, with a focus on cost-effective purchasing strategies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills and supplier relationship management.
ResponsibilitiesWork with and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery standards are met.Issue purchase orders and manage order confirmations, delivery schedules, and vendor performance.Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.Collaborate with internal departments such as engineering, production, and accounting to forecast demand and ensure timely procurement.Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse staff to avoid shortages or overstock.Conduct cycle counts.Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies.Assist in developing and implementing purchasing policies and procedures.Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and new products.Essential SkillsProcurementSupply chain managementPurchasing experienceManufacturing/Production knowledgeStrong negotiation and buying experienceData entry proficiencyLogistics managementAdditional Skills & Qualifications5+ years of purchasing/supply chain experienceExperience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in small to mid-size companiesProficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and vlookupsExperience handling purchase orders and managing a high volume of SKUs (100+)Vendor management and relationship building skillsProduction planning and forecasting abilities (6 months+)Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, with flexible hours from 7:00 to 3:30 PM, and an option to start earlier as the shop floor opens at 5:30 AM. The role operates in an industrial setting with a smaller team of 65 people onsite, 50 on the shop floor and 15 in the office. Candidates should be comfortable spending time on the shop floor, physically checking inventory, and collaborating closely with the production team to ensure timely product dispatch. The work culture values hard work, personality, and a sense of humor. On-the-job training will be provided through shadowing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
