Business Unit Planner- Ottawa
Position Description:

We’re seeking a proactive Business Unit (BU) Planner to support strategic planning, execution, and performance management across one or more Business Units in Canada. Working closely with BU Leaders and senior executives, this role helps align priorities, drive key initiatives, and improve how the business operates.

As a trusted partner to leadership, the BU Planner brings structure, insight, and momentum to planning activities—blending strategic analysis with hands-on coordination in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning strategy into action through collaboration, data, and thoughtful execution.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

•Partner with BU leadership to support strategic planning, execution, and performance management
•Develop, track, and align business plans, KPIs, and priorities with BU, sector, and global objectives
•Analyze financial, operational, market, and competitive data to inform decision-making
•Create clear, executive-ready reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership forums
•Coordinate inputs across Finance, HR, Communications, and BU leaders to ensure consistent reporting
•Support leadership meetings, planning sessions, and key business events, including materials and follow-ups
•Maintain and improve planning tools, templates, and reporting processes, leveraging automation where possible
•Collaborate with BU Planners nationally to share best practices and align planning approaches

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

•University degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Technology, or a related field (MBA considered a strong asset)
•8+ years of experience in business planning, financial analysis, operations, consulting, or a similar role
•Strong business acumen and financial literacy, with the ability to interpret and synthesize
•Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
•Experience in a large professional services or technology organization is an asset
•Familiarity with CRM systems, financial dashboards, and performance management tools is preferred

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000–$125,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
