As a Business Unit Controller, you will play a pivotal role in fleet and electric operations, with a focus on cost analysis and budgeting. You will conduct deep dives with the fleet department to analyze vehicle and equipment costs, and collaborate with the Business Unit General Manager to develop budgets and reforecast. Your expertise will be crucial in electric operations, covering budgeting, reporting, and project analysis. Additionally, you will assist in bid preparation and provide insights into WIP reporting.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze financial performance, including variance analysis and trend identification, and recommend actions to management.
+ Establish a system of internal controls.
+ Collaborate with project managers and business unit managers to manage objectives, goals, and performance.
+ Define and review the timeline for business unit financial reporting with the CFO.
+ Assist in preparing the business unit budget and produce financial reports.
+ Prepare quarterly forecasts and monitor capital expenditure budgets.
+ Guarantee project management in the ERP system and support project managers during lifecycle reviews.
+ Alert project managers and business unit managers to project variations.
+ Monitor overheads, manpower costs, investment budgets, and equipment tracking.
+ Contribute to the daily life and development of the business unit.
Essential Skills
+ Accounting and financial analysis expertise.
+ Proficient in cost analysis, trend analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
+ Advanced Excel skills are mandatory.
+ Experience in construction, engineering, architecture, fleet, transportation, or logistics industries.
+ Knowledge of financial statement reconciliation and reporting.
+ Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Project Management.
+ Experience in industrial construction or commercial fleet operations is strongly preferred.
+ SAP proficiency is a plus.
Work Environment
This role is fully in-office, located in New Windsor, NY. You will report directly to senior management, working closely with the Business Unit General Manager. The position is newly created due to growth, with opportunities to work alongside the GL Accounting team and collaborate directly with Fleet and Electric business units. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.00/hr.
