Business Systems Analyst V
Are you ready to join a growing team? CTG is seeking to fill a Business Systems Analyst V opening for our client. Location: Buffalo, NY Duration: 5 months Overview: Responsible for facilitating complex projects from proposal through post-implementation. Participates in meetings with lines of business to identify requirements for application functionality and user experience. Serves as project lead to ensure test plans and specifications are completed on time and projects meet established milestones. Considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in assigned systems within 18 months of assignment. Primary Responsibilities: • Prepare functional specifications, test plans, test cases, and execute test cases for assigned projects • Conduct research and analysis of complex data to ensure accurate functional design • Mentor less experienced staff in application training, research, and project methodology • Serve as functional lead on complex projects for assigned applications • Schedule and facilitate project team meetings; document and distribute meeting minutes • Meet with business clients to discuss requested application changes (enterprise initiatives, compliance, contractual, or BAU) • Participate in design discussions and deliver functional specifications • Review business requirements with technology teams to ensure understanding • Coordinate and provide estimates for large projects and assigned components • Serve as SME to advise on application impacts from enterprise-wide initiatives • Work with vendors and technical teams to ensure thorough understanding of project functionality • May serve as Test Coordinator for multi-application projects • Document data mapping for integrations, conversions, and acquisition-related projects • Prepare test plans/scripts, manage and execute test cases verifying functionality and performance • Monitor functional specifications and change requests for compliance with regulatory and business standards • Ensure timely resolution of testing or implementation issues • Coordinate post-implementation activities, including feedback, issue resolution, and project debriefs • Adhere to risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls • Promote a diverse and inclusive work environment • Maintain internal control standards and implement audit points • Complete other related duties as assigned Scope of Responsibilities: • Responsible for multiple complex projects as functional lead and SME • Coordinate with business units, vendors, and technical teams to ensure project success, adherence to standards, and regulatory compliance Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: • Mentor less experienced staff • Coordinate multi-application test efforts • Provide guidance and oversight to project team members (no direct reports) Education and Experience Required: • Minimum of 6 years combined higher education and/or operational/business analytics experience • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and lateral thinking skills • Proficiency with personal computers and pertinent software • SIT and UAT test management/coordination experience (preferably with loan servicing systems) • Ability to write business requirements and test scripts/cases Education and Experience Preferred: • Bachelor’s degree • Subject matter expert in business with application/system knowledge • Experience managing multiple complex projects • Advanced understanding of applications and integrated systems • Familiarity with project management, word processing, and spreadsheet tools • Knowledge of application frameworks, development software, and hardware platforms • Ability to present effectively to all levels of management • Detail-oriented, proactive, capable of multitasking across complex projects • Experience with bank acquisition methodology or relevant conversion experience Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
