This role is based in Business Strategy & Operations (BSO) which serves as the strategic backbone and operational enabler for Product Development Data Sciences (PDD). The function ensures organizational excellence through robust quality frameworks, optimized resourcing, and aligned strategic execution. BSO brings together cross-functional capabilities across quality and compliance, workforce planning, and strategic operations to empower leaders and teams to deliver with focus, transparency, and accountability. By connecting enterprise priorities with operational realities, BSO drives consistency, clarity, and coordinated progress across PDD and the broader development organization.
The role is a paid, full-time internship of three months’ duration, based in Welwyn Garden City.
The OpportunityAs a Quality & Compliance Intern, you will support day-to-day quality and compliance activities within PDD. You will contribute to maintaining quality standards, supporting documentation and reporting activities, and assisting with cross-functional coordination efforts that enable compliant and efficient operations across PDD.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop a foundational understanding of PDD strategy, operations, and reporting processes, to enable strategic recommendations and decision-making around how we operate across PDD
Support review and refinement of Quality & Compliance metrics in partnership with the metrics team and Q&C stakeholders
Assist in building and enhancing a metrics dashboard that captures relevant Q&C indicators, aligned with leadership input and the Quality Management System
Support iterative updates and refinements for the planned MVP dashboard rollout in Q3
Support exploration of AI and automation opportunities within Q&C processes, including assessing the overall AI/automation landscape as well as the feasibility of AI/automation solutions within PDD
Support planning and coordination activities for the Quality & Compliance Forum, including preparation of materials and logistics
Contribute to preparation of presentations, communications, and materials for functional updates, governance forums, senior leadership reviews, and evolving

Who You AreEssential Skills & Experience
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, life sciences, public health, data sciences, engineering, or a related field
Strong interest in quality, compliance, digital health, or data governance within a regulated environment
Experience or knowledge within automation / AI, metrics, dashboards, and performance frameworks (e.g., OKRs, KPIs)
Comfortable with a continuous improvement mindset and challenging the “why”
Comfortable working with ambiguity and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative, curious, and proactive, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks
Nice to have:
Exposure to project management, consulting, operations, or strategy coursework or internships
Experience creating presentations or working with data in gSlides, gSheets, gDocs, or similar tools
Strong interest in healthcare, pharmaceutical development, data-driven organizations, or strategy & operations
