At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections,  where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

Roche is a global pioneer and leader in Personalized Healthcare. We provide breakthrough differentiated medicines and diagnostic tests using expertise in Science, Technology, and Data so that people can live better lives and patients receive what they need.

We believe it’s urgent to deliver medical solutions right now – even as we develop innovations for the future. We commit ourselves to scientific rigor, unassailable ethics, and access to medical innovations for all. The rapid digitalization of healthcare fuels an accelerated transformation in our industry.

This change requires entrepreneurial talents who foster innovation and inspire teams to take risks, learn and progress quickly.

The Opportunity

Business Perspectives offers dedicated professionals at an early stage in their career a unique opportunity to gain a breadth of experience across Roche.

This program serves as a springboard for aspiring leaders to shape the future of our company and make significant contributions to our purpose of \"Doing now what patients need next\".

Experiential learning and development is the foundation of the Business Perspectives program, enabling  you to gain experience in different areas of our business in a condensed time.

The rotations throughout the program are personalized to your experiences and interests and include one rotation in our Corporate Strategy team.

The Business Perspectives Program identifies top talent at early stages of their career and accelerates their development across geographies and functions.

It empowers participants to shape the future of Roche as aspiring leaders, enabling you to be a key contributor to our company's ambition and purpose of addressing patients' needs.

Who you are

You bring a diverse perspective and are ready to collaborate for impact. You are intrigued to work at the confluence of Technology, Science, and Medicine. Ultimately, you want to bring meaningful solutions to patients and the healthcare ecosystem.

We are looking for individuals with a strong strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, who can think analytically and innovatively. The ability to adapt and operate in ambiguous environments is crucial. We are seeking agile learners who are passionate about making things happen and can inspire, motivate, and engage others beyond their line-management responsibility. Demonstrated commitment to culture, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace is also vital.

As a fast learner, you proactively drive outcomes and integrate well into different cultures, teams and business settings. You’re keen to build capabilities in commercial roles, in digital innovation, and in (the commercialization of) data and digital tools to generate business outcomes.

For this opportunity, we are seeking individuals who have:

A strong interest in the healthcare industry and are willing to build a career in this field and at Roche.

An excellent academic profile, including a degree in science, data science, business, and preferably a postgraduate degree such as an MBA, PhD, MD, MEng, or MSc, is desired.

Additionally, 3-5 years of professional working experience excluding internships in industries such as Pharma, Diagnostics, Biotech, Med Tech, Information Technology (preferably healthcare-oriented), or Consulting to Healthcare is required.

Exposure to commercial roles or projects related to innovation in digital or advanced analytics technologies for the healthcare industry is valuable.

Global mobility is required throughout the 2-year rotational program and afterwards.

Full proficiency in English is necessary, and knowledge of other languages is a plus.

We are looking for someone who thinks beyond the entry point offered by this program - someone who knows that this can be a rare springboard to many other opportunities at Roche. When applying for the Business Perspectives program, already project yourself in the future. Think about what could come next and how you would like to build your future at Roche.

What we offer you:

During the 2-year program, you will have the opportunity to build skills and capabilities across our operating businesses in various functions, projects, and locations. Whether it's working at a global, regional, or affiliate level, in pharmaceuticals or diagnostics, focusing on core commercial or conceptual strategy work, you will have the chance to explore different areas of our company. We also embrace digital technologies, data management, and advanced analytics for Personalized Healthcare solutions.

We believe in ownership over your career, recognizing that career journeys are personalized. You will have the opportunity to choose your rotations and design your path within the program, aligning with business priorities.

Throughout the program, you will be surrounded by inspiring peers, thought leaders, and a strong support system. Your Program Manager, Rotation Managers, Alumni Buddy, and Senior Leader Mentor will provide personal support and guidance.

We believe in lifelong learning and will provide you with on-the-job training, formal leadership and self-directed learning, targeted mentoring and coaching, as well as other networking resources.

After completing the program, you will be fully empowered to assess opportunities and decide on your future career with Roche. We provide mobility support wherever it is needed.

If you want to learn more about Business Perspectives and the recruitment process, visit our Career page, which includes all the details you need to know.

As part of the application, you will need to prepare a maximum 4-slide presentation answering the following questions and Business Case.

Why do you want to participate in the Business Perspectives Program at Roche?

How would you contribute to the Commercial community at Roche?

Business Case:

Your country’s healthcare system is under pressure. While scientific breakthroughs in Precision Medicine (targeted therapies, gene therapies, and immunotherapies) offer the potential to cure previously unmanageable diseases, they come with high upfront costs. Simultaneously, the post-pandemic economic reality has left public health budgets deeply in deficit.

To manage these deficits, government payers are reverting to short-term cost-containment measures—such as strict price referencing, delayed reimbursement, and flat budget cuts—rather than investing in long-term value.

You are seeing a trend where \"Value-Based Healthcare\" is praised in policy papers but abandoned in practice because the system is too fragmented to measure results.

Based on the dynamics above and your understanding of the current market:

Risks & Opportunities: What are the biggest commercial risks for a company launching high-value precision medicines in this cost-constrained environment? Conversely, where does the \"data gap\" in healthcare systems present a unique opportunity for a partner like Roche?

Strategic Proposal: Present one concrete proposal for a creative partnership model (beyond simple drug discounting) that would allow the healthcare system to adopt a new Roche innovation while minimizing their financial risk.

Operational Considerations: What internal shifts (e.g., in structure, digital capabilities, or talent mindset) must Roche make to successfully execute this proposal?

Ready to take the next step? We'd love to hear from you. Apply now to explore this exciting opportunity!
