SCOT Optimal Inventory Health (OIH) team manages Retail inventory health WW. We own products that identify and remove overstock inventory through multiple disposition channels – Markdowns, Deals, Coupons, Vendor Returns, and Google Shopping Ads - across 20+ marketplaces. OIH Insights Team provides analytic horsepower to drive OIH strategy. We do so by :
- Transforming raw, complex datasets into intuitive, and actionable insights to inform business decision.
- Building and maintaining modular, scalable data models that provide the generality, flexibility, intuitiveness, and responsiveness required for seamless self-service insights.
- Generating deeper insights through statistical modeling and machine learning.
We are looking for experienced, self-driven, and strategic Business Intelligence Engineer with superior analytical skills. This position is critical to build scalable BI solutions to support next-gen system transformation.
You will work partner closely with PMTs, Scientists, Economists, Engineers to contribute to each layer of data solution (build data pipeline for scalable BI solution, productionize self-service insights generation etc.)
Key job responsibilities
- Translating the business requirements to structured BI solutions.
- Designing and implementing BI technical solutions with the appropriate analytics strategy and data set design.
- Implementing data pipeline for Insights generation.
- Translating the raw data into meaningful insights through collaboration with Product Managers, Data scientists and Data engineers.
- Structuring large scale, complex analysis and performing the analysis to generate insights.
- Driving business actions through insights to accelerate the business and technical evolution.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
