**Overview**
The _Business Intelligence Developer_ plays a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that inform strategic decisions, optimize business processes, and support organizational growth. This role blends data analysis, visualization, and technical development to help the business understand performance, identify opportunities, and drive innovation. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the BI Developer delivers compelling data stories through dashboards and reports, contributing to a culture of evidence-based decision-making.
**Job-specific Accountabilities**
**Operational Excellence**
+ Collect data from diverse sources including databases, spreadsheets, logs, and external datasets.
+ Cleanse and transform raw data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
+ Normalize, aggregate, and structure data for analysis and visualization.
+ Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements.
+ Translate business needs into technical specifications and BI solutions.
+ Conduct data mapping and profiling to ensure completeness and accuracy.
+ Document user stories and business requirements for data-related projects.
+ Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment on data initiatives.
+ Identifyand implement data-driven improvements to enhance operational workflows.
**Data & BI Solutioning**
+ Design and develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI and other Power Platform tools.
+ Apply UI/UX best practices to create intuitive and impactful visual narratives.
+ Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business success.
+ Deliver regular and ad-hoc reports tailored to stakeholder needs.
+ Assistin building models to forecast trends and outcomes based on historical data.
+ Support predictive analytics and machine learning initiatives.
+ Lead the design and delivery of scalable BI solutions aligned with businessobjectives.
+ Ability to assessinitial effort and resource estimates for BI projects to support planning and prioritization.
**Governance & Strategy**
+ Ensure compliance with data governance, quality, and modeling standards.
+ Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in BI development and data storytelling.
+ Manage user access,troubleshootingissues, andmaintainreporting environments.
+ ImplementidentifiedBI development standards to ensure consistency and scalability.
+ Support internal and external audits by ensuring BI solutions meet compliance and risk management requirements.
+ Participate in creating/designingtraining materials and documentation to upskill team members and stakeholders.
+ Support career development byidentifyinggrowth opportunities and mentoring team members toward advancement.
**Qualifications**
**Education & Experience**
+ Bachelor’s degree in any field.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in BI development, preferably with Power BI.
+ Experience with Qlik, Tableau, or other BI tools is a plus.
+ Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to workonsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situationand company related activities)
+ Shift Schedule (morning/mid/night): Amenability to work on the assigned schedule (dependent on business need)
**Technical & Functional Knowledge**
+ Proficiencyin SQL, Excel, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
+ Familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
+ Understanding ofETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
+ Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and predictive analytics.
+ Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Lake, MS SQL, EDL).
+ Awareness of data governance, modeling, and quality assurance practices.
+ Ability to adapt to evolving tools, technologies, and methodologies.
