Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Analytics & Insights, this role will deliver key insights to drive strategic direction in Direct Investing. This role will primarily focus on providing data-driven insights and decision support to various business initiatives, acquiring data in support of such work, as well as helping to develop robust processes and procedures, and executing thereon.

Key accountabilities include:

Perform and leverage DI's client segmentation to create and support targeted organic growth initiatives, client engagement tactics, and business value proposition enhancements

Support organizational change via various strategic initiatives, business process improvements, and run-the-business workstreams.

Collaborate with partners in Data & Analytics teams across Wealth, Marketing, and Distribution Channels to understand complex business issues and develop innovative data-driven insights and solutions.

Prepare structured analyses, often in time-sensitive circumstances, and be able to summarize key insights into a coherent, concise communication suitable for executive consumption.

Build understanding of DI business results and underlying drivers based on client segments across multiple dimensions such as demographic, relationship, geographic, platform, and behavioral traits.

Develop expertise in querying various DI and pan-Wealth data-sources to obtain relevant data to enable deeper analysis and the generation of value-added insights

Prepare, update, and evolve client segment-based financial models and business KPI forecasts

Build robust processes and documentation in support of client acquisition and engagement initiatives, or regulatory and control requirements

Deliver and continuously evolve regular and ad hoc reporting with KPI's that cover performance, value proposition, channel support, content strategy, etc.

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement (through process improvements, automation, improved documentation, etc.)

Uncover trends and insights from both quantitative and qualitative sources and use these to inform  strategic direction and craft compelling presentations for the senior leadership team

Use understanding of our educational and engagement offerings to perform competitive analysis and inform strategic content and capability roadmaps

Perform basic financial modelling activities in business cases and post-implementation reviews for projects and initiatives

Job Requirements

Knowledge of and familiarity or hands-on experience with self-directed investing platforms

Post-secondary undergraduate degree, preferably with a business/accounting, mathematics, engineering, or computer science focus

Post-undergrad work experience in business/product roles, finance/accounting, and/or analytics

Experience with data extraction, manipulation, and visualization tools (e.g. SQL, Python, Tableau) required

Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including experience developing business documents and leadership presentations with clear, compelling communications

Ability to understand business questions and issues, think strategically, synthesize information quickly

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Comfortable in operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment

Ability to independently manage deadlines while multitasking between different projects

Passion for and knowledge of self-directed investing is an asset
