Wells Fargo is seeking a Director of Loyalty Oversight, Risk& Control and Third Party Management. This is a critical role part of the Cards & Merchant Services group within Consumer Banking & Lending. The position serves as the leader for Loyalty Oversight as it pertains to third party oversight, risk management and control effectiveness. This role reports directly to the Head of Loyalty & Rewards.
This leader is responsible for the ownership of the two Loyalty Risk Assessment Units (RAUs) responsible for Rewards and Benefits. Responsibilities include evaluation of these units, strengthening controls and monitoring, and ensuring overall control effectiveness. The team is also responsible for control and monitoring design and oversight. This includes central issue management, adoption of best practices, continuous process improvements, and ensuring customer impacts are appropriately managed.
The role additionally oversees third‑party performance and application health, including vendor‑related control expectations and requirements. This team partners with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver features and capabilities that enable growth for the Cards business in a controlled and compliant manner. In this role, you will:
Serve as the business owner of two Risk Assessment Units (RAUs), ensuring engagement and timely completion of RCSA work
Oversee preparation for, and day‑to‑day management of, all audits, exams, and regulatory requests
Oversee issues management from evaluation through containment, remediation, and evaluation
Lead the team to develop adequate control plans and monitoring
Oversee procedure and controls development, change management, and maintenance
Ensure compliance and risk acceptance with third-party risk management, consumer financial laws, and all other applicable policies and regulations
Maintain the schedule of risk activities, ensure clear roles and responsibilities, and provide a consolidated status reporting of current activities, issues, and results
Partner with CMS Audit Readiness Leader to coordinate work and provide visibility into status and plans for high priority items (e.g., RCSA, audits, exams) and the overall state of risk management in PLS
Advise on new partnership contracts and vendor arrangements to ensure proper risk mitigation and awareness of engagement risks
Advise on new capability development and delivery to ensure proper design for risk mitigation, as well as efficient execution through process innovation, influence, and escalation when needed
Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all risk management, oversight, and monitoring activities
Interface with senior‑level executives on business transformation, regulatory and control commitments, and growth objectives
Interpret and develop a range of policies and procedures for long-range and fundamental retooling of perspective, approach, culture, quality, relationships, operations, and capabilities
Collaborate and influence functional management to obtain resources, influence outcomes, address and resolve conflict, and ensure alignment with Wells Fargo strategies, policies, and business line objectives
Manage the allocation of people and financial resources for Business Execution
Develop and foster a culture of talent development aligned to business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications, US:
8+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, including Management or leadership experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
4+ years of experience leading, inspiring, and developing high‑performing teams, including managers and individual contributors, while building strong partnerships to drive effective control execution and transformation
Experience using risk‑based prioritization (likelihood, impact, residual risk) to guide decision‑making, remediation planning, and prioritization of customer and business value
Highly refined communicator with the ability to influence senior leaders on complex risk matters, clearly articulate control gaps and recommended actions, and build effective partnerships across business and functional areas
Experience with Quality Assurance, monitoring, or call‑monitoring programs
Experience overseeing third‑party and vendor risk, including vendor health assessments, control expectations, and performance oversight
Experience managing end‑to‑end issue management, including root-cause analysis, remediation development, and sustainability validation
Experience in controls, including ensuring effective design, assessment, and execution
Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate effectively with third parties to support and drive key initiatives
Experience engaging with external regulators and auditors, including managing interactions and reviewing materials
Experience leading RCSA or RAU activities, including planning, execution, challenge, and timely delivery
Experience driving control transformation efforts, including control rationalization, redesign, or modernization of legacy control environments
Experience preparing for and coordinating audits, exams, and regulatory engagements, including owning responses and remediation actions
Demonstrated ability to design and execute effective control‑monitoring programs, including establishing KPIs/KRIs and governance routines
Experience with process mapping or customer‑journey mapping to identify risks, controls, gaps, and monitoring opportunities

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
