Job Title: Business Development Manager (SAN ANTONIO OR ***REMOTE***)
Job Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new revenue by identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities for our third-party warehousing and logistics services. This role focuses on developing strategic relationships with shippers, manufacturers, retailers, and other supply chain partners who require customized warehousing, distribution, and value-added logistics solutions.
Responsibilities
Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities within target markets and industries.Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue and growth objectives.Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through outbound prospecting, referrals, and networking.Conduct discovery calls to understand customer supply chain needs, warehousing requirements, volume profiles, and service expectations.Collaborate with operations, solutions engineering, and finance teams to design and price customized warehousing and distribution solutions.Prepare and present proposals, presentations, and RFP/RFI responses.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements to close new business.Maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and influencers at prospective and existing customers.Track sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts using CRM tools.Stay current on market trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings within the 3PL and warehousing space.Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.Essential Skills
3-5 years of experience in Account Management, Sales, Client Engagement, or Business Development, specifically in a 3PL/3PW environment or related industries such as Automotive, Logistics, Warehousing, Leasing, or Contracts.Strong client negotiation experience.Ability to identify and bid RFPs and RFQs with SMBs to Enterprise level accounts.Proven track record of exceeding expectations.Detail-oriented, organized, and receptive to feedback.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office.Experience with contracts.Work Environment
The position offers room for growth, with the potential to manage 1-2 SDR/BDRs in the next 6-18 months to assist with acquiring RFP/RFQs. The role includes uncapped commission and earnings on all RFQs, regardless of award status. The position reports to the President of the Company and can be remote, requiring monthly visits to San Antonio if out of market. Travel requirements range from 30-60% to meet onsite with clients and prospects, with more travel likely at the start and phasing down as client acquisitions are made.
