Business Development Manager

What's the role?

This is a new role focusing on consulting medium and large businesses on enterprise content, compliance, and copyright solutions for staff workflows and AI applications. As part of a new product launch, the Enterprise BDM will target key industries, identifying and securing high-value corporate partnerships to grow News Corp’s presence in the Australian market for Rights & Content Solutions. The role is key to winning new business, shaping acquisition strategies and using market insights to find long-term opportunities. You'll work closely with the B2B team to drive sales, activation and engagement.

Consult with corporate clients to sell NCA rights and NCA content solutions into the enterprise corporate market. 

Develop a solution selling approach to solve for knowledge and compliance gaps in client workflows, in clients systems, and for client adoption of AI applications.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Sales and with a dotted line to the Head of Licensing this role contributes to a high-performing and accountable team

Build strong internal stakeholder relationships—critical to success in the BDM role and essential for driving efficiency and collaboration.

Collaborate with the B2B team to shape and deliver a targeted new business acquisition strategy.

Develop data-driven strategies and sales plans to build a strong pipeline and close high-value opportunities.

Drive acquisition of new corporate customers across key industry verticals, nationally and across multiple News Corp Australia assets.

Meet ambitious new business targets for a new product, delivering on both volume and revenue goals across The Australian and broader News Corp assets.

Proactively prospect and nurture new customer relationships to maximise acquisition and revenue potential.

Oversee seamless onboarding of new clients while managing relationships to ensure long-term relationships 

Who are you?

You are competitive, relentless and resilient with a minimum 5 years in a new business development role in either enterprise content, risk & compliance, tech, legal or B2B Media roles. 

A results-oriented self-starter with a proven ability to deliver new business via prospecting, canvassing and closing 

Proven internal stakeholder experience that has led to contributing to a successful strategic sales roadmap delivering new business

Track record of successfully managing large new business negotiations from prospect to close status

Strong strategic sales skills – adding valuable insights into the Enterprise sales roadmap 

Strong relationship building skills – successfully build and manage effective (senior C-suite) relationships, both internally and externally

Solid project management skills – able to multitask and prioritise

Strong verbal and written communication skills
