Your Role:
As our Business Development Manager, you will be the driving force behind acquiring new clients and generating revenue in the trade credit insurance space. You’ll proactively identify opportunities, engage senior decision-makers, and lead negotiations that open doors to new business. Working closely with internal teams across Corporate, Risk Management, and Mercer Marsh Benefits, you’ll unlock cross-selling potential and deliver comprehensive solutions that meet client needs.
What You’ll Do:
Independently source and develop new business aligned with Marsh’s strategic goals
Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, advancing opportunities through defined sales stages
Conduct insightful client meetings, needs assessments, and tailored solution presentations
Lead commercial negotiations and secure new revenue streams
Collaborate across Marsh’s business units to maximize cross-selling opportunities
Stay ahead of market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging sectors to inform strategy
Represent Marsh at industry events and professional networks to boost brand presence
Consistently meet or exceed sales targets and maintain accurate forecasting and reporting
Adhere to Marsh’s compliance, governance, and hybrid working policies
What We’re Looking For:
Proven success in B2B business development, ideally within financial services, insurance, or commercial risk
Confidence and discipline in cold calling and engaging senior leaders
Strong track record in self-generated lead development and closing deals
Ability to influence financial decision-makers with clear credit risk mitigation strategies
Commercial acumen, analytical mindset, and structured sales approach
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Commitment to fostering an inclusive, diverse workplace aligned with Marsh’s values
