Business & Data Quality Analyst

At IQVIA, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of human science and data science to make the biggest impact possible. **Job Description:** Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Business Analyst / Data Quality Analyst to support the Enterprise Data Platform in driving improved data integration, data quality and analytics. This role combines business analysis with data governance. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to identify data requirements, build data solutions, and ensure data quality within the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) to meet downstream reporting and analytics needs. **Key Responsibilities:** Data Quality Analysis: · Data Quality Management: o Coordinate with business partners to define data quality rules and expectations. o Collaborate with data stewards and other stakeholders to establish data quality best practices and governance policies. o Develop and implement data quality standards, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. o Collaborate with IT and data management teams to design and implement data strategies and models. o Monitor and update data dictionaries and metadata to ensure data consistency. o Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality. o Following retention policies, conduct data cleansing to rid the system of old, unused, or duplicate data. · Data Observability: o Implement data observability dimensions such as freshness, volume, and schema to monitor the health of data systems. o Monitor data quality metrics and perform regular data quality assessments to identify and resolve data issues. o Provide end-to-end data lineage to track data flow from source to target. o Utilize automated statistical and/or observability tools (e.g. Anomalo) for faster processing and issue detection. o Evaluate the downstream impact of data issues and gather supporting evidence. o Alert relevant systems or users and notify them for immediate action. o Develop KPIs related to data failures, quality, outages, and maintenance costs. Business Analysis: · Stakeholder Collaboration: o Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. o Identify and prioritize additional data elements required for more granular reporting and analytics. o Identify and prioritize additional data transformations required to support reporting and analytics. · Data Requirements and Solutions: o Analyze current data availability and identify gaps in data needed to meet business reporting requirements. o Identify data sources for the additional fields and establish a process for capturing and validating the data. o Work with stakeholders to ensure that business data aligns with corporate objectives and governance standards. o Define and document the necessary transformations required to combine business unit data with enterprise-level data in the EDP. **Qualifications:** · Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. · Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, data engineering, or business relationship management, preferably in the healthcare or life sciences industry. · Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, OLAP) and familiarity with database management systems. · Knowledge of data quality management and/or data observability processes and tools. · Understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes. · Strong understanding of business process modeling, requirements gathering, and project management methodologies. · Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. · Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage relationships with stakeholders. · Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. **Preferred Qualifications:** · Experience supporting large business units in data strategy and reporting. · Knowledge of financial data and analytics. · Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. Snowflake) and big data technologies. · Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA), Data Engineering, or Business Relationship Management (e.g., BRMP) is a plus. **What We Offer:** · A dynamic and innovative work environment. · Opportunities for professional growth and development. · Competitive salary and benefits package. · The chance to make a significant impact on healthcare and human health.
