Job Description:

The Business Analyst for Rating supports rate change implementations in the Insbridge rating engine, supporting Guidewire PolicyCenter for Property and Casualty insurance.

 

Responsibilities:

- Liaising with Actuarial Pricing to elicit, understand and analyse rate change requirements; including priority, complexity, dependencies and other business and system impacts. 

- Work with Business Systems Analysts to communicate and clarify requirements to ensure understanding of all details. 

- Engage and coordinate work effort with Guidewire analysts and other technology teams on cross-functional projects. 

- Effectively manage timelines to deliver changes according to project schedules and regulatory deadlines. 

- Support testing and quality control of all changes, including execution of automated testing and building test cases for manual testing. 

- Thoroughly document business requirements, issues, test plans and test results. 

- Identify risks and recommend appropriate solutions and mitigation strategies. 

- Implement recurrent data updates including VICC, premium capping, postal code/GeoData. 

- Respond to ad hoc inquiries and conduct investigations into rating issues and questions as required.

 

Requirements:

- Superior analytical abilities

- Excellent math skills; Mathematics or Actuarial Science degree would be an asset.

- Expertise in Excel

- Excellent communication skills

- 3-5 years previous Business Analyst experience

- Good understanding of personal lines insurance products and pricing

- Experience with insurance policy management systems or rating engines preferred

- Understanding of Agile methodology and previous experience working in an Agile environment preferred
