Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a highly skilled Budget Analyst SME I to support the Human Exploration Development and Operations Office (HP), specifically serving as a budget analyst for the Habitation Systems Development Office (HP40). This role involves strategic budget analysis, investigating financial data to provide decision-makers with crucial information, ideas, solutions, and options for effective budget planning and execution.

This position is located in Huntsville, AL. Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Project Support Office (RS60).

Your future duties and responsibilities:

.    Strategic Budget Analysis: Investigate financial data to provide decision-makers with crucial information, ideas, solutions, and options for effective budget planning and execution.
.    Financial Reporting: Utilize financial systems to prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports. Communicate and present budget and workforce status to program management, center management, and HQ customers on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
.    Budget Monitoring: Monitor and track budgets, including preparing phasing plans, PPBE submits, and cost analyses.
.    Variance Analysis: Review, analyze, and present budget and workforce status, including detailed variance explanations with impacts and solutions.
.    Contract Funding Analysis: Analyze and monitor contract funding status.
.    Business Coordination: Coordinate business activities, make decisions, plan, and accomplish goals independently with minimal guidance.
.    Multi-tasking and Prioritization: Multi-task and prioritize work from multiple customers, meeting or exceeding deadlines.
.    Communication: Communicate effectively in writing, person to person, and in meetings. Maintain confidentiality of data.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

.    Education and Experience:
o    Masters plus 12 years or greater of specialized experience in the field or related area, OR
o    BA/BS plus 14 years or greater of specialized experience in the field or related area, OR
o    HS Diploma plus 16 years or greater of specialized experience in the field or related area.
.    Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office Applications, advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, and understanding of automated financial systems and budgetary report generation.
.    Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
.    Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

.    Knowledge of SAP and Business Objects (BOBJ) or other accounting systems.
.    Knowledge of government financial processes.
.    Experience with developing cost estimates/proposals for potential new work.
.    Experience with Power BI and previous government agency experience.

Additional Qualifications:

.    Security Clearance: Already acquired SECRET Security clearance or ability to obtain upon hire.
.    Domain Expertise: Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments.
.    Leadership: Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks and assignments, establishing goals and plans that meet project objectives.
.    Analytical Skills: Researches and applies qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze, and improve products and services.
.    Financial Management: Directs and controls activities for a project, having overall responsibility for financial management and methods to ensure technical requirements are met.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $198,400.00.
