Bump Operator (Contract)
**Job Title: Bump Operator (Contract)** **Job Description** A leading forge and fabricator of aerospace and airplane products is seeking skilled individuals to fill immediate openings for Bump Operator roles. This position involves operating a bump straightener to straighten steel shapes and hollows, measuring parts with precision, and maintaining a clean work area. This is a contract role with a duration of 3 to 6 months. **Responsibilities** + Operate a bump straightener to form metal and straighten steel shapes and hollows. + Measure parts accurately using a tape measure. + Load and unload furnaces to support the bump straightening process. + Determine tolerances to straightness based on part length and measure accordingly. + Maintain a clean and organized work area. + Assist in other areas as needed. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment. + Experience in the metal manufacturing or forging industry. + Proficiency in operating a Jib Crane or Overhead Crane. + Ability to read a tape measure accurately. + Experience with CNC machines and operating various machine types. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Furnace operator experience. + Extensive measuring experience. + Strong math skills. + Good job tenure is preferred. **Why Work Here?** The company fosters a supportive work culture where employees are valued and recognized for their contributions. The workplace is exceptionally organized, with everything labeled for efficiency. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and a work shirt, with appropriate personal protective equipment provided. The day shift operates from 5:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Thursday, with extended hours as needed, and 5:00am to 1:30pm on Friday. Training on the day shift lasts approximately two weeks before transitioning to the assigned shift, which could include off-shift or night shift hours as detailed. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of HOUSTON, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
