What this job involves:
JLL is hiring a Building Operator to join the maintenance team at University Ave. The Operator will responsible for operation, maintenance and repair of, HVAC related equipment, building operations, lights/tubes, ballast, light lenses, ceiling tiles, systems furniture, plumbing, and electrical/mechanical systems and equipment.
The Operator will participate in a rotating shift schedule (Monday-Friday) from 6:00am to 2:00pm or 1:30pm to 9:30pm. The schedule operates on a two week rotation from day shift to afternoon shifts. You also must be available approximately once every six weeks for on-call coverage. There is complimentary on-site parking available to all staff.
What your day-to-day will look like:
• Respond to tenant and user service calls and complaints as quickly and efficiently as possible.
• Perform work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.
• Provide assistance as directed to other building operations staff in the areas of preventative maintenance, electrical maintenance, etc.
• Perform water treatment testing and analysis, adjust and modify chemical feed to ensure proper levels are being maintained.
• Act as relief for other similar positions whose incumbent may be absent from time-to-time.
• Complete custodial housekeeping tasks in the mechanical/electrical areas.
• Perform other related duties as required and reasonably assigned from time-to-time.
Required Qualifications:
• 3 years’ experience in building repairs/operations
• Aptitude to learn state-of-the-art Building Automation Systems in order to be trained for the next level.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• React swiftly and accurately to crisis situations.
• Respond to unexpected emergency call-backs if problems occur from time-to-time
• Ability to perform the requirements of the job with minimal supervision and complete the assigned tasks per agreed deadlines.
Estimated compensation for this position:
30.00 – 34.00 CAD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
