**ABOUT THE ROLE**
As a CBRE Building Engineer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of multiple facilities in the San Jose, CA area. You’ll be responsible for the following:
+ Ensures the efficient and safe maintenance of client location(s).
+ Assists with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include: plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, and HVAC/R.
+ Operates, maintains, monitors, and performs preventive and predictive maintenance on building equipment, which may include: mechanical/HVAC-R/plumbing systems, electrical/cabling, fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, temperature control systems, building management systems, and digital systems.
+ Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps.
+ Performs niche and sophisticated tasks such as carpentry, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, furniture assembly/relocation and locksmith tasks.
+ Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
+ Must live within designated radius of the job site to reliably work schedule/shift.
**WHAT YOU'LL NEED**
To excel in this role, you should bring:
+ **Education:** High school diploma or GED required.
+ **Experience:** Minimum of 4 years of commercial experience as a Building Engineer or related job.
+ **Licenses & Certifications:** Universal CFC or EPA 608 certification preferred.
+ Refrigeration license and/or experience is a plus.
+ Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Skills:
+ Hands-on expertise with building systems.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
+ Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and work in various physical conditions (climbing, standing, etc.).
**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
+ **Maintain:** HVAC/R, Chillers, Boilers, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and General Maintenance systems.
+ **Repair:** Address emergency and preventive repairs to keep facilities running smoothly.
+ **Inspect:** Ensure compliance with regulations and client expectations for environmental and operational conditions.
+ **Support:** Provide technical guidance to team members and manage repair records.
