**About the Role:**
As a CBRE Building Engineer, you’re the on-site powerhouse that keeps the entire facility running at its best. You take charge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and all critical building systems—making sure everything operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently every single day.
You’ll lead advanced HVAC diagnostics and repairs, keep equipment performing to spec, and drive preventive maintenance that boosts system life and energy performance. When issues arise, you’re the expert who jumps in fast, troubleshoots with confidence, and restores operations without skipping a beat.
**What You’ll Do:**
You will maintain, monitor, and repair HVAC and building systems to keep the facility operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all codes and company standards. This includes performing advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heating and cooling systems, reviewing HVAC inspections to ensure equipment operates within design specifications, and leading preventive maintenance efforts to extend system life and improve energy performance.
You’ll also maintain and repair mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural, fire/life safety, and control systems while keeping the workplace clean and safe. Emergency repairs, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and ensuring all systems meet regulatory and safety requirements are part of the day‑to‑day responsibilities.
The role includes planning and completing work orders, estimating labor and materials, and maintaining essential inventory. You will inspect and oversee contractor work to ensure quality and adherence to standards, while reviewing building system inspections—such as fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing, and controls—to verify proper operation and environmental performance.
You’ll apply strong technical expertise to solve complex problems, share knowledge across multiple building disciplines, and coach others as needed. The position requires effective communication, especially when explaining sensitive or difficult information, and the ability to build consensus across teams. You are expected to lead by example, model CBRE RISE values, and influence both customer experience and operational outcomes while working within broad guidelines and policies.
**What You’ll Need:**
+ High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is required. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
+ Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
+ Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
+ Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
+ In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
+ Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
+ Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
