**Job Description**
As a Building Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, replacement, and troubleshooting of various building systems, including lighting, power, water treatment, and HVACR systems. You will also handle fire control systems, calibrate controls, and perform preventative maintenance, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of all facilities.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate, maintain, repair, replace, and troubleshoot lighting systems, power systems, water treatment, and specialized equipment.
+ Operate, maintain, repair, replace, troubleshoot, install, and assist in the installation of HVACR systems in County facilities.
+ Operate, maintain, repair, inspect, and test fire control systems and equipment.
+ Calibrate and maintain pneumatic, electrical, and digital controls.
+ Inspect and report operating problems to lead workers and supervisors.
+ Test, balance, and maintain boiler and chiller water treatment systems.
+ Program and reprogram stationary engineer specific facility equipment according to control system strategies.
+ Keep daily log books and make verbal and written reports.
+ Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to generate and retrieve preventative and corrective maintenance work orders.
+ Prepare purchase documents for fuel, equipment, and maintenance supplies for approval.
+ Recommend changes to improve efficiency and economy.
+ Assist Lead Building Operator and others by providing input in designing, building, installing, retrofitting, upgrading, and connecting control systems.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on related mechanical, electrical, and piping systems.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in facilities maintenance and troubleshooting.
+ Proficiency with building automation systems.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
+ Capability to read, interpret, and work from plans, drawings, and specifications, including building blueprints and electrical diagrams.
+ Proficiency in using testing equipment for electronics, pneumatics, air-flow, speed, temperature, and humidity.
+ Skill in using welding equipment, small power tools like saws, drills, grinders, and hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, and hammers safely.
+ Ability to analyze situations accurately and take effective action.
+ Experience in maintaining records and making reports.
+ Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
+ Proficiency in English for satisfactory job performance.
+ Ability to utilize computer equipment to enter, maintain, and extract information.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hyattsville, MD.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
