Explore our Total Compensation Calculator: compensationcalculator.wyo.gov Human Resource Contact: wdhaginghr@wyo.gov ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level. + Maintenance of the exterior of the facility and outbuildings. + Assist with assembly/removal of seasonal indoor/outdoor decorations. + Lawn care and general overall maintenance of the 50-acre campus. + Maintenance of vehicles, including washing, detailing, oil change, tire change, and fueling. + Recordkeeping for the maintenance of vehicles and equipment service. + Maintain and repair equipment, both large and small, including tractors, mowers, sprinklers and hand tools. + Snow removal in driveways, parking lots and sidewalks, including weekends and after business hours, if necessary. + Assists in the performance of maintenance and repairs in the main facility (ie, plumbing, carpentry, sheet rocking, texturing, and painting). Qualifications PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS: Preference may be given to those with general building and grounds maintenance experience. **Must possess a valid driver's license. KNOWLEDGE: + Skilled in operating manual, pneumatic and electrical tools + Skilled in operating and maintaining vehicles and machinery (i.e. tractors, mowers) + Must have working knowledge of maintaining grounds (i.e. irrigating, trimming, mowing) + Knowledge of sprinkler systems and irrigation equipment + Must be able to tolerate and work in extreme weather conditions (i.e. heat, cold, wind) + Must know basic carpentry (i.e. sheet rocking, perfotaping, texturing, painting + Must maintain high quality of work + Must have a positive attitude and patience in communicating with elderly and disabled residents + Ability to continually prioritize multiple responsibilities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma Experience: 0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Custodian OR Education & Experience Substitution: 1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Custodian Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: + Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals and bio-hazards + Must be able to drive vehicles and operate various types of grounds maintenance equipment + Must be able to be physically active 8-10 hours/day (i.e., climbing and standing on ladders, kneeling, lifting, pulling, reaching, stooping and repetitive movements) + Must be able to tolerate and work in extreme weather conditions (i.e., heat, cold, wind) + Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. + Must be available for snow/ice removal or building emergencies at any time NOTES: + FLSA: Non-Exempt + For the health and protection of our residents, annual testing for Tuberculosis is required. + Employees of this facility will be expected to follow all rules and requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding COVID-19. + A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
