Job Description:
This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.
We are seeking an innovative and visionary BSS Principal Solution Architect to drive end-to-end transformation and modernization of our Business Support Systems (BSS). This role will be at the forefront of reimagining our architecture towards a cloud-native, microservices-centric, and SaaS-based domain model, supporting a seamless omnichannel customer experience and harnessing the power of AI.
What You’ll Do
Lead the design, development, and execution of a modern, scalable, and resilient architecture for BSS, leveraging cloud-native technologies, microservices, SaaS, and event-driven approaches.
Define and execute the roadmap for BSS transformation, including legacy system migration, domain-driven design, and adoption of architectural best practices.
Architect integrated omnichannel solutions to deliver seamless and consistent customer journeys across all digital and physical touchpoints.
Embed AI and machine learning capabilities—including large language models and generative AI—into BSS domains to drive automation, personalization, and intelligent decision-making.
Champion a domain-centric approach, ensuring clear separation of concerns, optimized data flows, and high cohesion in business domains such as Customer Management, Product Catalog, Order Management, and Billing.
Evaluate and integrate vendor products, SaaS solutions, and APIs, applying industry standards (TM Forum, 3GPP, Open APIs) and modern API management practices.
Collaborate and engage with business, product, engineering, and operations teams to align technical solutions with business objectives and evolving customer needs.
Establish and enforce architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices to ensure quality, security, privacy, and compliance, including privacy and consent frameworks.
Leverage architectural modeling tools (e.g., Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect), CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring/logging tools to drive efficiency, reliability, and observability.
Mentor and inspire solution architects and cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
12+ years of experience in solution architecture, ideally with large-scale BSS transformation in telecommunications or similar industries.
Expertise in cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP), SaaS integration, microservices, API development and management, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and event-driven systems.
In-depth knowledge of BSS domains and processes: customer, product, order, billing, and revenue management.
Hands-on experience with domain-driven design, legacy system migration, omnichannel enablement, and digital transformation.
Proven ability to architect and integrate AI/ML solutions—including familiarity with Einstein AI, large language models (LLMs), and generative AI—within enterprise platforms.
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools, as well as CI/CD pipeline automation and best security practices in software development.
Strong understanding of LTE, 5G, and broadband technologies; knowledge of 3GPP and TM Forum standards is a plus.
Excellent communicator and influencer, with advanced stakeholder management and leadership skills.
Experience with architectural modeling tools (such as Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect) and governance frameworks.
TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture certification preferred.
