Job Title: Bridge InspectorAbout the Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Bridge Inspector to lead above‑water and underwater bridge inspections, oversee maintenance efforts, and support the design and evaluation of key transportation structures. In this role, you will provide technical expertise, guide junior team members, and ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities + Lead and supervise above‑water and underwater bridge inspections, maintenance activities, and ancillary structure assessments. + Evaluate field conditions and design challenges, delivering clear and actionable recommendations. + Support the development of project proposals and scope documents. + Prepare, track, and manage project budgets and schedules to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery. + Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and cost estimates. + Produce comprehensive engineering reports, plans, and documentation. + Guide and mentor entry‑level engineers, drafters, technicians, and administrative staff. + Provide field staff with technical coaching on inspection procedures and best practices. + Exercise sound independent judgment within established project frameworks. + Use computer‑assisted engineering and design technology effectively. + Participate actively in professional and technical organizations. + Attend occasional meetings or events outside standard working hours. + Maintain and promote strict adherence to safety protocols in all environments. Essential Skills & Qualifications + Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Bridge Inspector – Team Leader. + New York State Professional Engineer (PE) License required. + Demonstrated experience with bridge or ancillary structure inspection. + Strong proficiency in civil engineering principles related to bridge inspection. Preferred Qualifications + Successful completion of NHI/FHWA Safety Inspection of In‑Service Bridges. + NICET Certification in relevant disciplines. Work Environment This role involves a balanced mix of fieldwork and office-based engineering tasks. You will work with advanced design and inspection software and collaborate closely with multi‑disciplinary teams. Occasional off-hours commitments may be required.
