Human Resource Contact: Tina Borgaard 777-4356 or tina.borgaard1@wyo.gov ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. + Assists in performing routine field inspections, fracture critical inspections, and special inspections of existing, recently constructed, and damaged local and state-owned bridges and other related structures, including overhead sign structures, and high mast towers + Assists the lead inspector of a bridge inspection team + Prepares for inspections by reviewing structure files, identifying structure components and elements, and accounting for special considerations + Ensures inspections accurately and completely reflect the structural and functional conditions of the structure, are thorough, timely, and completed in accordance with WYDOT policies, procedures, and the FHWA National Bridge Inspection Standards + Prepares detailed structure inspection reports with photos in accordance with the Federal Highway Administration's National Bridge Inspection Standards + Uses non-destructive testing methods to assess damage as required + Records various measurements and takes photographs for use in load ratings or developing repair strategies + Uses computer-aided drafting to transform field sketches and measurements into detailed plans for engineering evaluation of the load capacity of the structure and for future reference + Prepares other related data for transmission to local government officials + Verifies the completeness of detailed sketches made by others Qualifications PREFERENCES: Preference will be given to candidates who have completed the National Highway Institute (NHI) Course No. 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges.
