Job Overview

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Breast Imaging and Interventional Technologist to join our imaging team at our University of Minnesota Health Clinic and Surgery Center in Minneapolis, MN! This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work Monday through Friday from 8:15AM - 4:45PM. No weekends!

 

The Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all of the members of the health care team.

Maintains patient carePerforms examinationsIdentifies relevant data from images accurately.Verify patient identification and documentationCommunicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of examAchieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.Ensures patient data integrityAccurate film identification and jacket preparation or digital image manipulation and archivingOrients and mentors new employees and studentsParticipates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiativesResponsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for positionCorrectly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelinesIdentifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to Department guidelinesAccepts new technology as it is introduced into the facilityDemonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served.Modifies clinical interventions based on population served.Provides patient education based on an assessment of learning needs of patient/care-giver

Required Qualifications

A.R.R.T. (R)A.R.R.T. (M) within 1 YearBasic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications

1 year in mammography
