**Brazing Technician** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Brazing Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling chillers and heat exchangers, interpreting technical diagrams, and troubleshooting assembly issues. Your expertise in copper brazing and mechanical assembly will be essential in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality industrial equipment. **Responsibilities** + Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements or assembly instructions. + Assemble chillers and heat exchangers according to drawings, schematics, and technical data. + Troubleshoot design and assembly issues and collaborate with engineering to correct them. + Perform copper brazing on industrial equipment. + Maintain paint inventory and material usage logs. + Position and align components for assembly. + Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in brazing and soldering. + Mechanical assembly skills. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. + Experience with hand tools and general labor tasks. + Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems. + Ability to troubleshoot assembly issues. + Accurate tape measure reading skills. + 2 years of experience in braze/soldering copper without leaks. + 2 years of experience in bending pipe. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in HVAC systems. + Familiarity with production processes. **Why Work Here?** Join a medium-sized company that values its employees and offers a supportive work environment. After 6 months, employees transition to a union environment, which promotes a structured and supportive workplace. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Niles, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.68 - $23.54/hr.
