The base pay scale for this position is $66.00 - $72.56. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.What you will be doingEducation Requirements: BS in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent education that qualifies for a NYSDOH Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure or CLIA qualifications for Testing Personnel
Licensures Required: Clinical Laboratory Technologist (per work state, applicable for NYS) - Or - NYSDOH provisional license, with expectation that incumbent attain NYSDOH CLT license within 2 years.
Certifications Preferred: ASCP or MLT
Minimum Year Experience Preferred: 1 year in a hospital based clinical laboratory or reference laboratory
SKILLS – Required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation.

Standing or sitting in the same location Standing or sitting in the same location; may require to stoop, climb or lift light material (<20 lbs.) or equipment. Examples: programmers, receptionists, medical technologists, and dishwashers.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Indoor area with frequent exposure. Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise. Examples: patient care providers and laboratory technicians.

POSITION & UNIT ACCOUNTABILITIES
Contributes to high-quality, safe laboratory practices in service to patients. Handles and processes specimens, ensuring proper identification. Performs accurate, routine clinical/diagnostic testing according to SOPs on human biological samples within the scope of one’s training. Analyzes, interprets, and reports laboratory results according to protocols and regulatory requirements. Operates laboratory equipment correctly, performs troubleshooting according to procedures as needed to resolve problems. Communicates effectively to other shifts and interdepartmentally when appropriate, regarding patient and operational issues. Performs required quality control testing on equipment and reagents. Knows acceptable levels of performance. Documents corrective actions taken for problem resolution, instrument maintenance, or quality control/test performance. Communicates clearly, accurately, and respectfully with customers and colleagues, ensuring that necessary information is shared. Notifies management or other key stakeholders of problems or issues as appropriate Attends and participates in continuing education opportunities to maintain relevancy and currency in professional practices and standards.Non-Discrimination Policy
