Job OverviewAn Innovation Labs Digital Assets/Blockchain Application Senior Engineer must be a highly motivated and proactive hands-on software engineer (Back End, Java Focus), have a proven ability and experience working with web applications in production. The successful candidate will be part of the core team continuing to build our Citi Integrated Digital Assets Platform (CIDAP). The ideal candidate will be a self-driven, proactive, strong enterprise developer and resourceful team player who can comfortably work with a large team of highly motivated individuals within Citi’s larger software engineering network.
We are looking for candidates who understand how to build the backend of enterprise-grade web applications. The successful individual should understand the basics of web3 infrastructure, blockchain technology and digital assets, and must be a strong enterprise developer of web applications. Experience and knowledge of web3 application development is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be handling the following (but not limited to) responsibilities:
To collaborate with team members in implementation approach of web applications leveraging blockchain technologyTo own and to delivery functional scope end-to-end of applications leveraging blockchain technology meeting our quality standardsTo solve solution engineering challenges to meet our stakeholders’ requirements and expectationsTo know and properly use best and common practices, and design patterns for enterprise web applicationsTo know and properly use best and common practices, and design patterns for web3 applicationsTo properly use collaborative tools to manage and deliver work in a distributed teamTo contribute and maintain tech documents for code and applications built and maintainedTo be a team player and properly communicate in a distributed teamHelp resolve/escalate issues as needed to successfully deliver projects on time, on budget and with qualityQualifications/ Experience
Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering; MS or PhD in computer science, or related discipline a plus7 to 10 years of experience in full software development and testing lifecycle. Experience from financial services industry is a plus.5 to 7 years of experience and expertise with Backend web development with Java spring1 to 3 years of experience in web3 application development is a plus1 to 3 years of experience and expertise developing web applications using asynchronous programming and communicationExperience and expertise developing web applications adhering to best practices and patterns for reliability, scalability, and performanceFamiliarity with web3 libraries like Web3J and Web3JS is a plusFamiliarity with common and best practices for web3 applications is a plusFamiliarity of Solidity code and best practices is a plusFamiliarity of basics of DevOps and containerize applications is a plusFamiliarity of Agile Methodology and Scrum is a plusCompetencies/ Skills
