The Biostatistician requires frequent interaction with leadership, scientists, epidemiologists, subject matter experts, and external academic and federal partners. The role directly supports evidence-based decision-making for vaccine policy by delivering rigorous statistical analysis, data management, and scientific reporting in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Design, test, and produce high-quality data collection tools and survey instruments (e.g., questionnaires, case report forms, electronic data capture forms, and data entry interfaces) tailored to client’s research and evaluation needs.
Develop, clean, document, and maintain secure, structured databases using CDC-approved platforms, ensuring data integrity, version control, reproducibility, and compliance with federal data security standards.
Perform advanced statistical data analyses on complex public health and clinical datasets using client-approved statistical software, including descriptive, inferential, and multivariable modeling techniques.
Conduct systematic literature reviews and evidence synthesis to inform study design, analytic approaches, and interpretation of findings.
Collaborate closely with the client’s internal teams and external partners to ensure scientific rigor, appropriate methodology, and accurate interpretation of data collection and analysis results.
Provide statistical consultation on study design, sample size calculations, weighting methodologies, and adjustment for bias in observational and survey data.
Assist in the preparation and authorship of abstracts, peer-reviewed journal articles, scientific reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
Prepare clear, publication-ready tables, figures, and visualizations that adhere to CDC clearance requirements, Section 508 accessibility standards, and plain language principles.
Deliver all products on time, with documented code, reproducible results, and full compliance with CDC information quality guidelines and federal regulations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
MS/MPH/MBA or similar degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience working in communications project management and communications department management
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed in an office or field environment. Regularly required to sit, speak and hear. Frequently required to walk. Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 20 pounds. Able to withstand the rigors of inclement weather to include extreme heat and cold. May be required to carry up to 40 pounds of training equipment. Exposed to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Capable of walking long distances over broken ground and may have to remain standing for extended periods of time in order to support training on range operations. Capable of climbing up/down on a variety of military and armored vehicle platforms.

The estimated pay range for this role is $149K to $158K, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
