The Bioprocess Technician is crucial to the operation of automated production and bioprocess systems and controls. This role involves operating production equipment and performing tasks such as equipment preparation, culture growth, media/buffer preparation, process monitoring, sampling, and harvesting. All activities are conducted within a regulated environment prioritizing safety, quality, and efficiency.
ResponsibilitiesOperate bioprocess equipment for cell culture operations from cell bank thaw through harvest.Prepare media and buffer solutions for the production process.Clean, assemble, and sterilize equipment.Comply with safety requirements, standard operating procedures, batch records, good documentation practices, and data capturing.Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to effectively troubleshoot equipment and process issues.Essential SkillsExperience in bioprocess, GMP, and manufacturing environments.Basic understanding of cell culture processes, equipment setup, aseptic technique, and sterilization operations.Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and interact with process automation systems for routine work.Additional Skills & QualificationsB.A. or B.S. degree in Life Sciences preferred, or equivalent experience in a bioprocess manufacturing environment or other regulated industry.Experience with creating and maintaining manufacturing operations documentation such as SOPs and batch records is a plus.Work EnvironmentThis position is based onsite four days a week at the Emeryville, CA facility, primarily on the swing shift. The training ramp is expected to last one month on the day shift before transitioning to the third shift. The role operates on a grave shift schedule of four 10-hour days from Wednesday to Saturday, 8pm to 6:30am. Candidates must be willing and able to work evening/night hours and weekends as needed.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
