Join our dedicated Clinical Engineering team as a Biomedical Equipment Technician III. In this crucial role, you will provide advanced technical support for preventive maintenance, repair, and evaluation of patient and non-patient medical equipment. You will also play a key role in guiding and supporting other Biomedical Technicians and coordinating technical projects with vendors. This is an opportunity to work closely with clinical, engineering, and administrative professionals while contributing to exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative:
Maintain accurate records for each job assignment using Clinical Engineering work orders. Stay current with advancements in Clinical Engineering through ongoing research and training. Request replacement parts and materials as needed. Assume on-call responsibilities for emergency service per the on-call schedule. Develop technical reports for projects, studies, and investigations. Coordinate work assignments with other BMETs and collaborate on technical projects. Assist with travel documentation and expense reimbursements for offsite visits.Technical:
Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and testing on a variety of medical and clinical equipment. Install medical systems and ensure timely completion of installation documentation. Evaluate demonstration units and provide comprehensive technical reports. Present in-service training on medical equipment operation and safety to health personnel. Investigate and document root causes of equipment malfunctions to prevent recurrence. Maintain operational integrity through regular testing and calibration of medical devices.Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR Associate’s degree in Biomedical, Electronic, or Computer Technology with 4+ years of related experience. Knowledge of pneumatics, mechanics, hydraulics, chemistry, and physiology. ICC Certification is a plus.Work Schedule:
Primarily day shifts, with occasional schedule adjustments to facilitate repairs and maintenance.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment.
