The Bindery Specialist plays a critical role in transforming printed materials into finished products such as books, pads, and packs. This position is hands-on and detail-oriented, involving both manual tasks and operation of specialized finishing equipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, quality-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Count, collate, and assemble printed materials to meet production specifications
Package finished goods, including boxing, labeling, and chip boarding
Operate finishing equipment, including but not limited to:
Programmable paper cutter
Folders
Perforator/scorer
3-hole drill
Shrink wrapper
Spiral binding machine
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Ensure quality control standards are met throughout the finishing process
Follow established safety and operational procedures at all times
Perform additional duties as assigned to support production goals
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for long periods
Strong basic math skills and ability to follow written instructions
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and complete physically demanding tasks during an 8-hour shift
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in print production or bindery work (preferred but not required)
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new machines and techniques
Highly detail-oriented with a methodical, process-driven approach
Comfortable working in a team environment and meeting production deadlines
