GFT is seeking a BIM Manager to join our transportation group in New York, NY. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of our NY or NJ offices.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

BIM Management Duties ~70%Manage and maintain project CDE, ensuring consistent data organization and accessManage Bentley tools such as ProjectWise, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, and MicroStationManage Autodesk tools such as Civil 3D, InfraWorks, Revit, and Autodesk Construction CloudTroubleshoot technical and modeling issues throughout the project lifecycleAssist designers in using a model-centric workflow for more accurate design and analysisIdentify project and client requirements and select the most effective software solutionsAssign key digital staff and help mitigate potential project risksSupport collaboration among engineers, surveyors, contractors, and other stakeholders to improve coordination and reduce errorsIntegrate project models with data sources such as GIS to improve contextual accuracyEstablish workflows for data transfer, QA/QC procedures, and digital standardsDevelop project implementation plans, including BIM execution and folder structureImplement and oversee optimization tools for analyzing drainage, earthworks, and geometric designCoordinate project kickoff and ongoing coordination meetingsEvaluate and deploy new software versions and emerging digital technologiesProvide mentorship and training on BIM processes, tools, and standardsDevelop, implement, and enforce BIM standards aligned with client and GFT requirementsConduct quality control reviews of digital models and deliverablesSupport project teams with modeling, detailing, and sheet management as neededDirect project production work (modeling, sheet production, detailing, submittal prep, etc.) ~30%

What you will bring to our firm: 

Minimum 10 years of AEC experience with a transportation focus with at least 3 years in a BIM-focused role.Proficient in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) for transportation and infrastructure projects.Proficient in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, ACC, Synchro, and Civil3D, and InfraWorksProficiency in BIM authoring platforms from Bentley Systems (e. OpenRoads, OpenBridge, etc.)Experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects in a BIM environment.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges.Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment

 

What we prefer you bring

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related industry experience.Proficiency in ProjectWiseUnderstanding of 3D, 4D, and 5D BIM processes, including clash detection, scheduling, and quantity take-offs.Knowledge of ISO 19650 and other relevant BIM Strong leadership and team management abilities.

 

Compensation:The range for this position is salary range is $110,000 – $165,000.
