Job Skills / Requirements Sunstates Security is hiring a Billing and Payroll Compliance Analyst for our corporate headquarters located in Raleigh, NC. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with client contracts and regulatory obligations related to labor standards, payroll accuracy, and billing practices. This role partners closely with Finance, Payroll, Operations, and Accounts Receivable to support accurate job setup, wage and invoice determinations, and contract-driven reporting requirements. The Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in contract compliance, performing routine audits, monitoring contract changes, and identifying financial and operational risks related to pay and bill alignment. This is a fully in-office position in Raleigh, NC - NOT remote or hybrid. This position offers a salary range of $65,000 - $70,000 - Plus - an Annual Performance-based Bonus, full medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, a 401k plan with company match, generous PTO & tuition assistance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES + Review, interpret, and administer client contracts to ensure compliance with labor requirements, wage determinations, billing terms, and financial obligations. + Monitor contract changes and ensure timely communication of updates to Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Finance stakeholders. + Maintain oversight of contract-specific equipment billing, PTO, benefit provisions, and annual compliance updates, ensuring accurate implementation across payroll and billing processes. + Maintain and update job master files (JMFs), billing rates, schedules, and contract-specific financial requirements. + Ensure accurate wage rates, bill rates, labor classifications, and scheduling parameters are properly reflected in payroll and invoicing systems. + Partner with Payroll and Accounts Receivable to support accurate weekly payroll processing and billing alignment. + Conduct routine audits of job setups, wage rates, bill rates, and labor schedules to ensure adherence to contract terms and regulatory requirements. + Identify and resolve compliance gaps related to hours worked, pay rates, and billable labor. + Generate and review compliance and financial reports to ensure ongoing contract adherence and revenue accuracy. + Track compliance milestones, deadlines, and contract-driven reporting obligations. + Maintain organized documentation supporting contract compliance reviews, internal controls, and audit readiness. + Support internal and external audits by providing contract documentation, analysis, and reporting as needed. + Respond to inquiries from corporate finance teams and field operations regarding contract terms, wage requirements, and billing compliance. + Escalate risks, inconsistencies, or compliance concerns to leadership with recommended corrective actions. + EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLSETS DESIRED + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. + Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. + Knowledge of labor regulations, wage determinations, prevailing wage requirements, and contract-driven pay and billing practices. + Experience working with client contracts and translating contract terms into payroll and invoicing processes. + Strong understanding of billing controls, pay/bill reconciliation, and financial compliance standards. + Proficiency in financial and operational reporting, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis). + Experience supporting internal or external audits, including documentation management and compliance reporting. + Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps, assess financial risk, and recommend corrective actions. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, compliance milestones, and contract updates. + Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Payroll, Operations, and field teams Disclaimer:The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
