Job Description
The primary role of a phlebotomist is to assist in various duties including troubleshooting, training, and recommending workflow improvements. This position involves collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, explaining the process of venipuncture clearly to patients, and ensuring compliance with physicians' orders.
Responsibilities
Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.Centrifuge and store specimens according to test requirements.Update patient information and maintain data records.Explain the specimen collection process to patients in a courteous manner.Demonstrate proficiency with straight and butterfly needles.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Ensure all test requisitions match scripts for 100% accuracy.Package and prepare specimens for transport, maintaining specimen integrity.Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department training sessions.Answer phone calls and provide laboratory results to inquiries.Essential:

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sterling, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
