As a Benefit Payment Services Client Tax Associate II within the Client Tax Operations Utility Team, you will act as a primary point of contact for Benefit Payment Service tax processes and inquiries. You will be part of a larger team that supports our clients' tax servicing needs across the Corporate & Investment Bank, Commercial Bank, and Consumer & Community Banking sectors. You will collaborate with Product & Relationship Managers, Operations, Technology, Legal, and Corporate Tax teams to ensure compliance with regulations, enhance efficiency, and positively impact client experiences. You will support a team managing substantial client relationships across the firm, providing opportunities to innovate and enhance client experiences while fulfilling regulatory obligations. This position is based at the Newark Corporate Center.
Job responsibilities
Manage tax-related aspects of benefit paymentsEnsure compliance with tax regulations specific to benefit paymentsPrepare and review tax reports related to benefit paymentsProvide support and guidance regarding tax documentation, tax withholding, tax refunds, and tax regulatory reportingTake proactive responsibility for resolving clients' inquiries within the published standardsImplement forward-thinking strategies to maintain response quality and completeness, preventing case reopeningAnalyze the root cause of recurring issues through regular review of metrics and assist in developing programs for service enhancements based on these figuresContinually review operational tax processes to identify areas for enhancementIdentify and escalate tax risks and participate in their resolutionAssist in client tax account reviews and ad-hoc projects across the wider Tax Operations team
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience in the benefit payment services industryFamiliarity with tax software used in benefit payment servicesFamiliarity with U.S. tax documents (W8/W9 forms) and U.S. withholding requirementsMinimum of 5 years of professional experienceProficient in Microsoft products, including Microsoft ExcelInclusive leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across teams in a client-impacting functionEffective client service and communication skills, with attention to detail and advanced organizational skillsAbility to develop innovative and creative solutions to complex issuesAdvanced reconciliation and analysis skills
