**Job Title: Batch Maker** **Job Description** The adhesive technician is responsible for ensuring that adhesives are accurately mixed for use in extrusion laminations, solvent laminations, and solventless laminations. This position requires a high degree of accuracy and organization. **Responsibilities** + Follow all adhesive safety requirements. + Ensure proper grounding procedures are strictly followed. + Use Excel spreadsheets to calculate proper mix ratios and quantities. + Accurately mix adhesives using proper batch formulas, accurate weighing, possible heating, and recording. + Ensure adhesives and catalysts are properly labeled for safety and environmental compliance. + Maintain and organize inventory inside the adhesive room. + Properly label, maintain, and organize hazardous waste in the collection area. + Prepare hazardous waste for shipment as needed. + Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the adhesive room. + Receive bulk solvent shipments and drum deliveries. + Maintain outside storage area for empty drums. + Alert maintenance in a timely fashion to any mechanical issues noticed. + Maintain accurate inventory and reconcile system in adhesive storage area. + Ensure adhesive room equipment is clean and organized. + Clean adhesive and primer gravures using the MicroClean station. + Inspect adhesive and primer gravures for cleanliness and damage, and document findings on the cylinder inspection form. + Support E&L production lines as needed, including hanging raw materials, unloading finished products, and cleaning out adhesive stations. + Participate in continuous improvement activities as needed. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in mixing and production processes. + Experience with batch mixer operations. + Capability to use Excel for calculations. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to maintain organization and cleanliness in the work area. + Experience in handling hazardous waste and maintaining inventory. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy the benefits of working on contract with vacation and holiday offerings. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation, and 401k plans. **Work Environment** Work in a flexible packaging environment within the Extrusion and Lamination Department and the printing department, operating two shifts from 5am-5pm and 5pm-5am, Monday through Thursday. Expect to have 3 or 4 day weekends regularly. The facility is not air-conditioned but is equipped with large fans for a comfortable work environment. On hot summer days, water and cold treats are provided. Being a food and medical packaging environment, hairnets and masks are required, although beard nets are not necessary. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Schaumburg, IL. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
