Check out this video for more information on our great company! #PGH-BMC Location Description Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is nestled high atop the majestic San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 5,174’. This Resort is surrounded by an ocean of Ponderosa Pines and gives guests exclusive access to Lake Arrowhead, a reservoir with a surface area of 780 acres. Lake Arrowhead is the perfect location for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and offers a variety of summertime and wintertime activities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ziplining, and more. The resort includes a Bar & Restaurant, Spa & Wellness Center, Outdoor Pool & Lake Beach as well as over 23,000 sq. ft of meeting and events space. Overview The Bar Back is responsible for assisting bartenders in maintaining a well-stocked, clean, and organized bar area during our busy season. They ensure bartenders have the necessary supplies and ingredients to provide efficient service while upholding cleanliness and safety standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Refill liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other bar essentials throughout service. 2. Keep the bar area clean by wiping down surfaces, removing trash, washing glassware, and ensuring all equipment is in good condition. 3. Maintain a steady supply of ice, straws, napkins, and bar tools to keep operations running smoothly. 4. Support bartenders by retrieving ingredients, prepping garnishes, and helping with simple drink preparation as needed. 5. Change kegs, ensure draft beer lines are working properly, and report any equipment issues 6. Collect, wash, and restock glassware to ensure bartenders always have clean glasses available. 7. Assist guests by providing water, answering basic questions, or directing them to the bartender for orders 8. Follow all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations to maintain a safe and professional bar environment. 9. Answer basic questions about the menu, including ingredients and allergens. 10. Assist guests with special requests and communicate their needs to the kitchen or servers. 11. Restock kitchen stations with necessary items such as plates, utensils, condiments, and to-go containers. 12. Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) to prevent food waste. 13. Maintain clean and organized food storage areas. 14. Assist in cleaning the bar, restocking supplies, and setting up for the next shift 15. Support co-workers by helping where needed to enhance the overall guest experience. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Occasionally assisting with simple food prep tasks such as garnishing plates or assembling takeout orders. 2. Support other departments within Food and Beverage as necessary. 3. Changing trash bags, sweeping, or performing other small tasks to keep the bar clean. 4. Execute tasks as directed by supervisors, managers, or directors across various resort areas within the Food and Beverage Department, including but not limited to seating guests and assisting with banquet functions. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. One year’s restaurant experience working as a bartender or bar back, required. Pleasant and engaging personality. Excellent communication skills. California Food Handlers Card and RBS Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. Neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance and personal hygiene. Effective verbal communication skills. Must be able to speak, read, and understand English to receive training and instructions, interact with guests and other associates. Must be comfortable with standing and walking for long periods of time on your feet. Must be able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, overtime, and holidays. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to work the summer season beginning end of May through September with flexibility to extend seasonal employment into October, if needed. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Must be 21 years of age. Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $16.50/Hr. - $16.50/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
