Bar Straightner Machine OperatorWarren, MI Co. is a UAW union facility that process steel bars and coils - cutting, straightening, heat treating and plating. 
3rd Shift: 8pm-6am (10 hours shifts with overtime and weekends) 
Pay Rate: $18.50/hr 
Summary of Job:Load, Operate, Unload a bar machine straightening machine.  Responsible for locating proper steel, band the material after straightening, enter pertinent information into the computer and put the material in a location in the yard.   
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Locate material in the yard to run based on the schedule and tags on the material.Operate Hilo’s to perform essential dutiesSet up Machine straightenerAdjust machine as required to maintain a straight barBand Bars using pneumatic banding tools and steel banding.Fill out production paperwork.Enter production into the computer system.Move completed material out into the yard for storageMaintain a clean work environment
Other Duties:Monitor coolant levels in machine and add coolant as requiredDaily Hilo inspectionUse hand grinder
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands.  The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.   The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee must regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
