Overview The Bradley hotel is seeking an experienced Banquet Supervisor who possess a warm, friendly, can do attitude" and have previously worked in a fast paced catering/banquets environment. Must have a stable work history and prior experience preferred. The Banquet Supervisor will contribute to the mission and success of The Bradley by creating exceptional ways of personalizing and providing the best guest service in the hospitality industry and ensuring our high standards of service are met. The Banquet Supervisor will provide prompt and courteous service to all guests, encouraging the guest to return again which will generate repeat business. The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for providing quality guest services that include a positive first and last impression and a friendly, upbeat and clean atmosphere to every guest. When servicing guests, the Banquet Supervisor is responsible for being professional, friendly, and helpful, using the "Five Hospitality Standards" of eye contact, a smile, speak first, engage in polite conversation, and use the guest's surname. All functions are carried out to maintain an environment of teamwork. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Qualifications ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Inspect grooming and attire of staff, and rectify any deficiencies. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times. Inspect the set-up of meeting and banquet functions, checking them against the Banquet Event Order. Supervise and assist with the set-up of assigned catered functions, ensuring that the hotel’s standards are met, and advance preparation for service is adequate to allow efficient service to the guest once the function begins. Act as liaison between Sales/Catering Manager and the in-house meeting or banquet contact. Respond to guests needs in a timely manner. Communicate problems/issues to the Banquet Supervisor, General Manager or the Food & Beverage Manager. Assist in service of functions as required. Requisition liquor for all banquet bars and maintain proper control over banquet beverage service. Supervise and assist with the break down after the completion of functions to ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored properly. Inspect the sanitation of all function space and storage areas to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and organization throughout the department. Follow all state liquor laws. Be familiar with banquet menus and prices. Supervise banquet staff as directed by Banquet Manager/Supervisor/F&B Manager. Hold pre-function meetings, and check staffing and menus, prior to events. Assign side-work duties and stations to all servers. Supervise service of station or banquet room. Prepare banquet checks and obtain signatures from guest contacts. Monitor ongoing functions throughout assigned shift. Supervise the breakdown and clean-up of all functions assigned. Verify server’s paperwork when event is complete. Prepare accurate captains’ reports. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure staff is working together as a team. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support team to reach common goals. Monitor banquet rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and well-being of guests. Complete work orders for maintenance repairs. Complete scheduled inventories of supplies, food, and liquor. Check stock and requisition necessary supplies. Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies, obtaining change required for expected business level, and keeping bank secure at all times. Communicate last call at designated closing time. Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by management.
